HANDS aims to improve the quality of life for people living in the areas of Twickenham and St Margarets by giving friendly, practical help to those in need. In times of difficulty, local volunteers are willing to give people of any age group practical help and support in many ways, especially to elderly, frail, disabled, sick and lonely people

HANDS IS NON POLITICAL AND NON SECTARIAN

SUNDAY LUNCH CLUB is held weekly at St Mary’s Church Hall, Church St, Twickenham. A cook and helper prepare a good home cooked meal and coffee, for up to 8 people.  Transport is arranged.

HANDS JAUNTS are special outings with volunteer escorts organised for small groups of people who rarely get out. A variety of venues include theatre, concerts, exhibitions, local events, gardens etc. Transport is provided.

MINIBUS SHOPPING for those unable to use public transport or carry bags. An ‘accessible’ bus takes 8 people to a local supermarket on Thursday afternoons, picking them up from home. They stay one hour for shopping and meet in the cafeteria. Volunteer helpers accompany them and wheelchairs are available at the store if needed.
